Dr. Hon-Man Lee is of counsel to our law firm. He is a Registered Patent Attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Dr. Lee focuses on a broad range of technologies:

  • Cancer Immunotherapy (immunology, virology, cell biology, molecular biology, and cancer research)
  • Electrical & Mechanical (energy management system, multimedia teleconferencing system, beverage and brew apparatus, oil exploration method and equipment, and medical devices)

  • Gene Therapy (combination gene therapy, adenoviral vector-mediated herpes simplex virus/thymidine kinase with ganciclovir gene therapy, adenovirus-mediated interleukin-12 gene therapy, vector design, suppression of orthotopic tumor growth, cancer therapy)
  • Biotechnology (antibody technology, vaccine technology, pharmaceutical compounds, genetic engineering, antimicrobials, and microarrays)

Background

Dr. Lee is versatile and knowledgeable in immunology, gene therapy and biotechnology. His Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine was directed to the differential activation of CD8+ T cells by transforming growth factor-beta.

Dr. Lee conducted post-doctoral research at both the Naval Medical Research Institute and Baylor College of Medicine, focusing on immune T cell co-stimulation by CD28 and immune responses in a mouse prostate cancer model.

As a result of his training and research experience, Dr. Lee is superbly suitable to handle inventions that are derived from breakthrough biomedical discoveries. Dr. Lee is skilled in describing and evaluating the essential features of an invention. Furthermore, Dr. Lee is helpful to inventors by articulating and explaining arguments and strategies during the prosecution of patent applications.

For relaxation, Dr. Lee enjoys traveling, trying new things, and reading current events. Dr. Lee appreciates family time with his wife and children.
